Two years talking with VozDigital go a long way

Posted on 7/08/2016 by Darío Alonso, Product Manager

It’s the anniversary of VozDigital! On a day like today in 2014 we presented an internationally ground-breaking way of making phone calls to fixed landline and mobile numbers in Spain using the Tuenti app without the receiver needing to have the application installed. After a couple of years developing and iterating the product in order to improve its quality and innovate the features we offer our clients, we now want to take advantage of this special occasion to share some of the facts that we find most interesting.

A total of 42 million minutes have been spoken: this equals playing 15 million times El Tigeraso ("Lo tengo todo papi") song. Just to give you an idea, this totals around 55,000 minutes a day.
As we mentioned, we presented the product in Spain in 2014, but it wasn’t until 2015 and 2016 that we started offering this service in Peru and Argentina, respectively. In fact, there are already 370,000 clients around the world making phone calls with VozDigital.

In 2015, we presented our clients in Spain with the possibility of making phone calls to international fixed landline and mobile phone numbers in 40 destinations. Since then, a total of 43,000 clients have used VozDigital to make calls to other countries, and more than 10,000 do so on a regular basis. These calls have lasted a total of -drum roll please- 5.5 million minutes, representing 13.75% of the total, global level, VozDigital pie of calls -quite a big slice!

Historically, Italy is the country where most phone calls are made frequently exceeding 4000 minutes per day. Morocco, Peru, China and Germany complete the top five destinations that are called the most.
Our greatest day of all times, a true record, was last June 10 when a total of 36,502 clients called using VozDigital. We don’t mean to exaggerate, but that’s as if every person in Teruel called in a single day ;) And as for the day with the most minutes spoken, the record belongs to last May 30 with 130,000, equaling 90.3 days of blah, blah, blah… come on, three months!

Oh! And let’s not forget the so-called impossible calls that we have “made possible” because they were received in any device our clients had the app connected to. We have made possible the 2% of calls that could not have been possible if they had not been received through the application; these calls would have been lost. This totals around 700,000 minutes of joy for all of us.

Once again, we receive the ContactCenter Award for Best Service for Mobile Customers

Our Customer Service team was victorious in Madrid at the VII edition of the Platinum ContactCenter Awards and we couldn’t be happier. The award bestowed to us by the jury is, for the second consecutive year, the award for best care to mobile customers in the category of ContactCenter Quality Awards for Best Advanced Service for Mobile Customers. The Platinum ContactCenter Awards have established themselves as a quality brand that rewards the best customer service in the Spanish customer service industry.

This is the third consecutive year in which we have received this prize from the Platinum ContactCenter Awards, and it is the result of us demonstrating our daily effort and dedication to improve and offer a quality, agile online service via the chat on our Tuenti app, email, the chat on our website, our official forums and our social profiles on Twitter and Facebook.

Once again, and as always, thank you very much to all of you who have endeavored to make this possible and see our work rewarded with prizes like this.

50 minutes of VozDigital chat for 1 euro

Posted on 6/23/2016 by Anna Réti, Product Manager

We want our customers in Spain to be able to call any landline or cell phone number in Spain or abroad anytime they want, which is why we now offer them all the possibility to enjoy VozDigital minutes no matter whether they have an active tariff or not and for half the price it cost until now.

So, we have reduced the price of 50 VozDigital minutes to €1 and it is now available for all our customers, both prepaid and postpaid, whether they have an active tariff or not. Because we don’t want anyone to miss out on the chance to talk.

Any questions? You can find all the info here ;)

Much more than a chat

Posted on 6/15/2016 by Luis Javier Álvarez, Product Manager

We want communication among our clients and users to be as easy and fluid as possible. For this reason, today we are presenting a small but great change to the chat screen of our app, which places SMS, photo, audio message, location and sound sticker sending options at the forefront.
These functions have always been available on our app but we know that by giving the gnome filter, the evil laugh sticker or the sending of free SMS messages from the app a little more importance we are making everything easier. That’s why our clients will now have all of these options within the reach “of their finger”, without having to open a new window to use one of them.

Has Spain scored at Euro 2016? Click directly on the sound button to send a “Goal!” Lost your group of friends at a festival? Send them your location so you can meet up.

This new feature on the chat is now available on the latest version of the Tuenti app on Android and on the website version. In the coming weeks it will also be available on iOS. In the meantime, here’s an example of what it will look like on an iPhone 6 ;)

A new design and a new experience, now also on the website

Posted on 5/25/2016 by Luis Javier Álvarez, Product Manager

Newton said it when he stated “a body at rest will remain at rest” and it’s true: if you give a human being a sofa, he’ll be trapped in a parallel universe of relaxation and comfort.
Anyway, as we are in favor of this universe continuing its capture of devotees, we’ve been working on a new design for the private part of the Tuenti website, which, from today, sees us roll out an experience that is fully focused on communication for our clients and users, and a browsing experience that is more similar to the one we presented a few weeks ago on the app on a global level.

But what does this mean? It means that we are defending life on the sofa and doing our small bit for it, offering all the functions we have on our app on the website version of Tuenti too, along with a unified experience on both platforms: your contacts are synchronized so you can make VozDigital calls, your conversation and chat history is saved, management of your mobile account is possible, you can send SMS messages... In short, we are taking clients’ lines (their numbers, contacts and conversations) to the cloud so they can do without a SIM card which, up until today, tied their phone number to a physical element, the smartphone.

So, if you’re watching a TV series on the sofa with your laptop, you’ve gotten really comfy, but you left your cell phone somewhere else in the house, don’t worry. Your conversations, mobile account and the option of making and receiving calls are always available from your laptop. You don’t need to lift a finger or have telekinesis superpowers.
Check out the new design and get comfy on the sofa :)
