New VoIP calling service for our iPhone app

Today we are presenting major innovations to our native iOS app: for the first time ever, version 4.3 will include the free voice calling service. This means that users can now make or receive high quality multi-platform calls for free using the Tuenti iPhone application, which is also compatible with Android, Chrome and Opera.

Available for iPhone terminals (version 3GS and newer, equipped with the iOS6 operating system or higher), users will find the option for making free calls in the top right corner of the chat screen when chatting with friends or contacts. The call history with each person is displayed in a fully integrated manner in the conversation because it forms part of the conversation and everything is stored in the cloud.

Tuenti Móvil customers can make these calls using the Tuenti app without consuming cell phone data allowances thanks to Zerolímites, a completely innovative and exclusive concept in the cell phone carrier market.

Lastly, this version also includes improvements to the chat's usage experience thanks to visual innovations. It's time to update the app and try out the VoIP calling service with friends and contacts! ;)

Tuenti Móvil Lands in the Canary Islands!

Starting tomorrow, March 6th, we’ll be distributing Tuenti Móvil both prepaid and contract Tuenti Móvil SIM cards in the Canary Islands vía 140 Movistar stores. The Canary Islands will now make up part of our points of sale network that already includes 2,000 stores on the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands.

We’ve reached the archipelago, and we’re offering Tuenti Móvil prepaid tariffs of 1 GB of data and calls at 0 cents (for €6.41, IGIC included) and 1 GB of data and 75 calling minutes (€9.50), both with SIM cards at a retail price of €12 (IGIC included) and whatever’s left over is kept as phone credit. The tariff that includes 1.5 GB of data and 150 calling minutes (€15.92) is being offered for prepaid lines for €18, and the difference will also be kept as phone credit. Thus, our clients will be able to get a prepaid SIM card for the price of €12 (IGIC included) with 1GB of Internet data ready to go with the option of including a 50 calling minutes, or €18 (IGIC included) with 1.5 GB of data and 150 calling minutes.

Tuenti Móvil tariffs are available to our Canary clients from the 140 points of sale whether they are registered on Tuenti or not. Movistar stores that carry our product are located at: 77 stores in the Santa Cruz de Tenerife province (72 in Tenerife, 4 in La Palma and 1 in El Hierro) and 63 stores in the Las Palmas province (45 in Gran Canaria, 11 in Lanzarote and 7 in Fuerteventura).

All of our tariffs include Zerolímites, our revolutionary offer that lets our clients use the mobile app for Tuenti with no limits for calling (VoIP), chatting, and for sharing photos and videos without a data connection or phone credit.

Data Stop: Stop Using Data When Your Bundle Runs Out

We’re all about innovation and we’re at it again. We’re introducing a new feature for Tuenti Móvil clients with prepaid lines that allows them to stop their national data connection when their data Bundle has run out. Starting today, clients who have Data Stop enabled when their monthly Internet Bundle runs out will be able to control when they use data and will not receive extra charges for connecting to the Internet.

With this optional feature enabled, clients with prepaid lines will not be able to connect to the internet from their device, but they will be able to use the Tuenti app to chat, call or share with friends and contacts thanks to Zerolímites, our value-added service that doesn’t require credit or data.

Clients can enable or disable Data Stop whenever they want on their Mobile Account through the Tuenti app or on the web: with an active or inactive data Bundle, or even while using Bonoplus. If this feature is deactivated and the client has exhausted his/her data Bundle (or it is inactive), Internet connections are charged at a rate of 3.63 cents/MB, and the connection speed will remain the same. Even More Integration with Tuenti Móvil, and New Features in our iPhone and Android Apps

We’re continuing to develop our app in order to easily and conveniently integrate the Telco services we offer into our mobile operator and the social communication features of our app. That’s why today we’re introducing version 4.2 of the Tuenti app for Android users and version 4.1 for iPhone users. Focused on simplicity, it will now be even easier for Tuenti Móvil clients to manage operator services in the iPhone and Android apps: top-up, control credit, listen to voicemails, and purchase data Bundles.

Version 4.2 for Android, our most advanced version, includes voicemails that are integrated into chat conversations. This way, Tuenti Móvil clients can listen to their voicemails from directly within Tuenti’s chat section. This new version of our Android app also makes tagging much easier: Users can tag their friends in Moments as they publish them or in photos that they’ve already uploaded. We’ve also improved the photo browsing experience, and this version includes a URL shortener for sharing links in Moments more easily.

Version 4.1 of our iPhone app also includes updates in social communication. Within the chat section, users will now see the most popular public group chats, join them, and see all of the messages and photos that have been shared within them. This new version also comes with GIF support in the feed! Users can now share animated GIFs in Moments that they publish and on their friends’ walls.

Voice Messages in chat are even cooler now with the gnome and troll voice filters we’ve added to both versions of the app (in Android, for users with Android version 4.3).

We’re still developing our communications app with additional integration features for Tuenti Móvil clients that use our app without consuming credit or data with Zerolímites. We’ll be back with more news ;)

New Chat Features in the New Version of Tuenti for iPhone

Here at Tuenti, we’re always working hard and launching new features for our apps. That’s why today we’re presenting version 3.7 for iPhone which is full of new features: public group chats, voice message, sound effects, and sticky notifications.

Since one of the most common reasons for using Tuenti is to meet new people, we’ve created public group chats, which give users an easy way to do so. This is a brand new new feature that allows registered Tuenti users that have common interests to chat and share, while still having the same privacy model in place. 

This new chat model, in beta phase, lets users create group chats that are shared as Moments and are integrated into the feed so that the creator’s friends can see and join them instantly. Just like our regular group chats, these can contain up to 75 participants, and the administrator can moderate and modify them.

We’ve also included voice messages and exclusive Tuenti sound effects that users can send through chat (kiss, laughter, happy birthday, etc.). Now, communication among friends and contacts will be even more personal.

This new version also comes with improved (“sticky”) notifications that provide a notifications history so that users can go back to them whenever they wish to, and they can be muted or deleted.

We believe that all of these updates allow for a communication among users that is simpler and more dynamic.  If you’d like to check out them, download or update the app and start taking advantage of all the new things we’ve added.
